CAMILLO VENESIO

Biography

He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Banca del Piemonte since 1983 and as General Manager since 1990. He began his professional career at the Bank while still attending university. He graduated with honors in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Turin in 1977. Following academic and professional experiences abroad, in 1978 he completed his first major corporate transaction: the merger between Banca Anonima di Credito, established by several long‑standing families from Turin, and Banca di Casale e del Monferrato, founded by his grandfather in 1947. This transaction led to the creation of one of Piedmont's leading private banks. Together with a group of young managers, he has been a key driver in the development of Banca del Piemonte, preserving its identity as a solid regional bank fully independent from any banking group. Within the Italian Banking Association (ABI), he serves as Vice President and is a member of the Steering Committee, the Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors. His honors include appointment as Cavaliere del Lavoro in 2003; Alumnus of the Year of the Faculty of Economics in 2006; the Guido Carli Award in 2016, the Leone d'Oro al Merito per l'Economia in 2026, and recipient of the Special Merit Oscar "for its commitment to the development of local lending and for providing tangible support to the Piedmontese economy", as part of the Banks Oscars awards ceremony.. He has served on the boards of directors of Reale Mutua, CartaSi, IMI Bank Lux, Juventus FC and several other companies. He has also represented the Italian payment systems before the European Commission, the European Central Bank, and the European Banking Federation.
