Biography

Fabio Perata is Head of Division at ECB Banking Supervision in Frankfurt, that he joined in 2014 during the establishment of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). He oversees the design and implementation of supervisory strategies to enhance Euro Area banks' risk profile via SREP exercises, targeted reviews and ad-hoc measures. Fabio also leads cross-initiative projects aimed at improving methodologies, processes, and practices in business models, IRB models, credit risk, governance, capital management, and IT risk. Previously, he held responsibility roles in financial control, externa and internal audit across insurance, banking, asset management, consumer finance and consultancy sectors, contributing to the set-up of robust risk and control management frameworks for complex institutions. Fabio earned a Master's in Business Administration from Bocconi University (complemented by an exchange at the MBA of University of Michigan) and holds certifications in Audit, Risk, AML, and ESG.
