Giovanni Tirino is a policy advisor at Banca d'Italia, where he has worked since 2016 in the Directorate for Regulation and Macroprudential Analysis. His responsibilities cover market risk, operational risk, counterparty credit risk, and the prudential regime for investment firms. Since 2022, he has been seconded to the European Banking Authority (EBA), contributing to regulatory policy development and technical standards. He holds a Ph.D. in Business and Management from the University of Turin, following earlier degrees in Finance from the University of Piemonte Orientale. Giovanni has also served as Assistant Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management, teaching corporate finance and financial markets. Prior to joining Banca d'Italia, he gained experience in corporate finance advisory and investment analysis.
