Biography

Nico Abbatemarco is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Leadership, Human Resources, and Digital Technologies area at SDA Bocconi School of Management. Here, Nico is part of the core team of the Digital Enterprise Value and Organization (DEVO) Lab, where he focuses on digital transformation and its impact on businesses. Since 2019, Nico has also been part of the team behind the European and American chapters of the Digital Strategies (DSR) and Corporate Information Security (CSR) roundtables, aimed respectively at Chief Information Officers and Chief Information Security Officers of large global companies. At Bocconi University, Nico is co-lead for teaching "Strategy and Governance for Cyber ​​Risk," the primary module of the Master of Science program of the same name offered in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano. He also lectures on courses such as "Blockchain and Crypto Assets" and "IT Consulting." His research focuses on the evolution of corporate cybersecurity strategies, cyber risk management, digital transformation and its complexities, and the analysis of high-impact technologies for the business world. He is co-author of the books "The Blockchain Journey: A Guide to Practical Business Applications" and "The Post-Digital Enterprise." He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Finance and a Master's Degree in Management, both from Bocconi University. He was also a visiting student of International Business at National Taiwan University in Taipei. He earned a PhD in Management Science from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), with a thesis project on cybersecurity and innovation.
