Biography

PAOLA SCHWIZER is Full Professor of Financial Intermediaries at the University of Parma, where she teaches Risk Management and Value Creation in Banks. She is Affiliate Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management. She is Honorary President of Nedcommunity, the Italian association of non-executive and independent directors, which she chaired for six years and where she contributed to the establishment of the Chapter Zero Italy of the Climate Governance Initiative. She has served as an independent director in several listed and non-listed companies, including Credem, Inwit, and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, and she is currently Vice Chair of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank Italia and Lead Independent Director at Hera. She is Co-Editor of the Journal of Management and Governance and author of numerous publications on corporate and risk governance, internal controls and compliance in banks, sustainability, strategy, risk culture, and misconduct.
